Are you interested in a new concept in zip compression? Try ZipMagic and see for yourself!

Introducing ZipMagic
The "Zip" file format is the most popular way to compress files. But using zip files can be a pain. Every time you want something inside a zip file, you have to use a program to extract it, or type out difficult commands in DOS. NO MORE! With ZipMagic, those hassles are a thing of the past. ZipMagic is available for Windows 95, Windows NT and Windows 3.1 (all three versions are included with your purchase of ZipMagic).

Immediately know what is inside a zip file - and use zip files without having to unzip them first!
ZipMagic includes the patent-pending ZipFolders technology, which safely and transparently shows zip files as normal Windows folders. The contents of zip files you download, receive or create become instantly accessible, so you can view and modify files, run programs, archive files, all with spectacular ease - without having to unzip anything. And every file stays compressed in the zip file, saving precious disk space! With ZipMagic, you can immediately use zip files, without hassles or headaches.

Open all popular compressed files, even email attachments!
ZipMagic fully supports the universal ZIP format, as well as other compressed files like ARJ, LHA/LZH, Z, GZIP, TAR, TAZ, TGZ, RAR, CAB and ZOO. You can also open and decode email attachments like BinHex, UUEncode, XXEncode and MIME.

Everything you need from a zip program, and more.
ZipMagic also includes ZipTools. This program gives you all the state-of-the-art options you need when it comes to unzipping and zipping files. Place large zip files onto multiple disks ("spanning"); create self-extracting zip executables; password protect files; drag and drop; and get full compatibility with all standard zip formats.

ZipTools even includes extensive file and disk management with integrated file viewing.

The first zip utility with automatic updating.
Only ZipMagic has the revolutionary Internet EasyUpdate, which seamlessly updates your copy of ZipMagic to the latest maintenance release.

Installing ZipMagic
The ZipMagic Setup program automatically recognizes which version of Windows you are running and installs the appropriate settings and components (Windows 3.x, Windows 95 or NT 4.0).  The program will begin installation immediately if you have auto-run enabled on your CD-ROM drive. Otherwise:

1. Place the ZipMagic CD-ROM in your CD drive.
2. Select the Start button in your Taskbar and choose Run from
   the displayed Start menu.
3. In the displayed Run dialog type d:\Setup.exe or e:\Setup.exe and
click on the "OK" button (assuming that your CD is drive 'd').
4. Follow the instructions of the installation program.

Uninstalling ZipMagic
If ZipMagic is incompatible with something on your system or if you wish to uninstall ZipMagic for some other reason, you can run the included Uninstall program.  You can do this from the "Add/Remove Programs" control panel applet or by running the "Uninstall ZipMagic" program from the ZipMagic 98 group in the Start Menu.

If while using ZipMagic you have created archives, you may want to uncompress them, since they may not  be as easy to work with using other  Zip management tools.  Any recent Zip management program can be used to extract the files you have compressed -- or use ZipMagic one last time before uninstalling it.

The Uninstall program will disable the device driver but it cannot safely "unload" it while the system is running  (though of course all files will be properly deleted).  If you wish to completely unload the ZipMagic device driver, you'll have to restart your computer after the uninstall completes.

Acknowledgment
ZipMagic incorporates portions of the compression code from the Info-ZIP group. There are no extra charges or costs due to the use of this code, and the original compression sources are freely available from http://www.cdrom.com/pub/infozip/ or ftp://ftp.cdrom.com/pub/infozip/ on the Internet.
