GREAT TIP
Tired of Windows XP Error
Reporting? Simply Disable It...

By Kim Valentine (*)

A new (and tiring) feature in Windows XP is "Error Reporting". Everytime a program has a problem and crashes a little box comes up and says " 'Program Name' has encountered problems and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience." I'm glad Microsoft is sorry for inconveniencing me, but it goes on to say "Please tell Microsoft about this problem" and gives you two buttons, "Send Error Report" and "Don't Send". My first question is, who receives all those error reports and does anyone really read them? Well, if you're annoyed by these messages, Open System in the Control Panel (or right-click on the My Computer icon and select Properties. Choose the Advanced tab, and click Error Reporting. You can then disable this, or even pick and choose what programs it's allowed to report on.
