AVOIDING LOCKUPS
One way to work around a Windows NT Explorer crash is to have each Explorer
window run as a separate process. To do this, run the Registry Editor and look
in the HKEY_CURRENT_USER subtree for the subkey Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer.
Create a new DWORD value called DesktopProcess, and set its data field to 1.
Quit the Editor, log off, and log on again. Now you still have access to the
taskbar and desktop whenever a particular window freezes up.

USING THE WINDOWS KEY IN WINDOWS NT
A previous Exploring Windows NT tip explained that you can press the Windows
key along with the letter E to launch Windows NT Explorer with all drives collapsed.
But here are more uses for the Windows key:
[Windows] F: Opens the Find dialog box.
[Windows] M: Minimizes all open windows.
[Windows] R: Opens the Run dialog box.
[Windows][Break]: Opens the System Properties dialog box.
[Windows][Tab]: Cycles through the programs on your taskbar.
[Windows][F1]: Opens Windows NT Help (regardless of the program you're working
in, pressing [F1] by itself opens the current program's Help).
