EXPANDING WINDOWS NT INSTALLATION FILES
If you would like to expand the Windows NT CD-ROM files to your hard disk, do
the following:
1. Insert the Windows NT CD-ROM into your computer.
2. Go to a command prompt.
3. Type "CDdrive_letter\i386\winnt32 /t:c /x" (no quotes) and press
[Enter].
4. When the Windows NT 4.0 Upgrade/Installation dialog box opens, click Options.
5. Clear the check box to create boot disks and click OK.
6. Click Continue to expand all of the files to drive C. There will be a folder
on drive C named $win_nt$.~ls that contains the expanded files. You can rename
this directory if you wish.

MOVE MY COMPUTER ICON FROM DESKTOP TO START MENU
On Windows 2000, you can drag the My Computer icon from the desktop onto the
Start menu. This will let you navigate the complete name space including Control
Panel, drives and folders from the Start menu.
