Hi All!
Are you scared with today Friday August 13? Hehehe.....For me it's simply a
great day! I just installed my Embellish on Windows 2000 Professional Beta 3
and it is running here absolutely fine, simply fantastic, really perfect! Yesterday
I can't install Embellish and Windows 2000 says that have incompatibility and
asked me about upgrade packs for this soft. But I discovered the problem and
now I'm here using my favorite image editor!!!

In my new Windows 2000 Professional beta 3 installation
(I replaced the HDD WD 2,5GB by a Maxtor 6,4GB ultra DMA and used FAT instead
of NTFS5). I configured dual boot with my Windows 95 companion of NT 4.0 (resides
in the same CD) and I tried a migration just from Windows 95 environment. After
15 minutes of super-accurate analysis Windows 2000 published a long report describing
all softs I have in partition D. In this Maxtor I was running just fine in C
a NT4 SP5 with 118 applications installed in D. The problem was this now deceased
NT was a Server and the Windows 2000 that I am testing here is a Workstation
and because this condition can't perform a migration from NT4. The Windows 2000
migration report advised me that can't migrate several programs and one of this
was just Embellish!
With this report I was very depressed, because I simply love Embellish! I'm
using Embellish since the first version and I built my Web Site originally over
OS/2 Warp platform, with Embellish and Home Page Publisher, the web editor that
was recommended for me by Elton Hartman Marks. I purchased both from BMT Micro,
Inc., world's largest OS/2 applications reseller. When I decided follow David
Hammel ideas because Boxer 99 and migrated my IDE to Windows NT in order to
improve my productivity, not because Bill Gates was sponsoring me but because
IBM was orphaned OS/2 Client, I purchased from Beyond.com the Embellish version
for Windows 95 and used it with some bugs on NT4 SP5.
In order to discover the problem that was generated the reported incompatibility
I downloaded a demo version of Embellish and dumped it. I used Soft ICE and
cracked it. When I installed my cracked copy I analysed the Windows 2000 Registry
reaction using Regmon and I discovered that the Windows 2000 report is simply
in error. With this conviction I deleted the cracked version and tried install
my registered version. I have success as you can see in the photo below and
now I'm here running my legalized Embellish!
