Upgrade Options
Running 4.5 and 4.0
Version 4.5 installs separately from 4.0, so you can switch between them
as needed. To run the two versions simultaneously you must enable multiple instances
in one or both product installations. To do this, create a Registry string value
in the HomeSite4 and/or HomeSite45 branch in the Allaire Registry branch (HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Allaire):
AllowMultipleInstances = -1
Note that while this enables you to run multiple instances in the HomeSite4
branch and to run the two version at the same time, you will still be limited
to only a single instance of HomeSite 4.5.
Upgrading 4.0 to 4.5
Allaire is working on an Upgrade Wizard which will enable users to upgrade
their existing settings/customizations from one version to another. This feature
will become available in a future test release. For now, you can upgrade most
of your settings/customizations either via the Registry, the \UserData\ directory
or manually. Please exercise caution upgrading settings via the Registry.
See Remote
Servers in 4.5 in the New Features section for details on how to migrate
existing 4.0 server configurations.
New Features
Allaire is redesigning the remote access via FTP and RDS servers in HomeSite
and ColdFusion Studio. The servers are no longer managed by either of the products
but are stored in the HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software \Allaire\RemoteServers branch
of the Registry. As a result, you will not see your existing servers when you
install 4.5. You can redefine the servers or move them manually from the old
location in the Registry (HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software \Allaire\HomeSite4\RemoteServers).
The Upgrade Wizard will automate this task in an upcoming test release.
[BETA1]
To simplify access to remote and local files, a Shell Namespace Extension
with the label "Allaire FTP & RDS" is installed with HomeSite
and ColdFusion Studio. The installation does the following:
- Adds an Allaire FTP & RDS icon to the Windows95/98/NT Desktop.
- Adds an Allaire FTP & RDS item in the Windows95/98/NT Explorer.
- Enables Allaire FTP & RDS in the drop down selection box in the
Local Files tab.
Note:This new remote server feature is available in Beta 1, but it
is at a very early point in its development. We've added it now to give you
an opportunity to preview it and give us feedback. Please read the Known
Issues with this feature section below before testing this feature and submitting
bugs. We have retained the 4.0 Remote tab functionality so that testers can
maintain productivity while trying this new featue.
Managing Files
You can now work with remote files transparently while in the Local Files
tab.
After selecting Allaire FTP & RDS, you can double-click on a file in
the file list to open it in the editor and drag and drop a file into the editor
to embed it as a hyperlink. This is the same behavior as 4.0. Right-clicking
on a server entry will show a popup menu for adding/deleting/modifying remote
servers.
In addition, in the Windows95/98/NT Explorer, you can drag and drop files
to/from the local disk and to/from your remote FTP and RDS servers.
Known Issues with this feature:
This feature will be more fully implemented in subsequent beta releases.
- You cannot add RDS servers in HomeSite 4.5. The Add RDS Server dialog
displays, but the new server is not actually configured. After attempting
to add an RDS servers via Allaire FTP & RDS, you may get an access violation
when trying to access existing ftp servers. Therefore, when you create RDS
servers in ColdFusion Studio, they will appear in HomeSite. However, FTP
servers created in either product will show up in the other.
- RDS Servers don't show up in the Local Files pane, nor in Explorer.
- Drag and Drop transfers of files in Windows95/98/NT Explorer from Remote
Server to Local file system appears to work visually but actually doesn't;
no files are transferred.
- Drag and Drop transfers of files in Windows95/98/NT Explorer from Local
file system to Remote Server shows a progress message box in the upper left
hand corner of the screen, regardless of where Windows95/98/NT Explorer
is on the screen.
- When right-clicking on a directory in HomeSite and ColdFusion Studio,
a message box appears with the message: "Not Implemented"
- When right-clicking on a directory in Windows95/98/NT Explorer, nothing
happens.
- Selecting Open from the Allaire FTP & RDS Desktop icon popup menu
before selecting Explore from the same menu will cause an Access Violation.
- An access Violation occurs in Windows95/98/NT Explorer if you hit the
F5/Refresh key when Allaire FTP & RDS entries are exploded.
- The Modified column in Windows95/98/NT Explorer detail view shows incorrect
times for files.
- The Detail view in Windows95/98/NT Explorer doesn't sort on column clicks.
- The View menu item in Detail view in Windows95/98/NT Explorer doesn't
show bullet next to menu entry indicating which view is active.
- Cut/Copy/Paste doesn't work in Detail View, nor are the corresponding
entries in the Edit menu active.
- The Title and Modified columns in HomeSite and ColdFusion Studio file
list are empty.
- The File list doesn't refresh after changing the active columns in file
list.
- Directory-level Drag and Drop and Cut/Copy/Paste actions don't work
in Windows95/98/NT Explorer.
- No popup menu displays for the Allaire FTP & RDS icon. If you don't
have any servers configured, there is no way to add the first server. You
can get around this by adding first server in HomeSite and ColdFusion Studio
in the Remote Files pane.
- The initial path shows up as part of server name description.
- Added servers don't show up. In HomeSite and ColdFusion Studio you have
to select a local drive from the combo box, then re-select Allaire FTP &
RDS. If servers are added in Windows95/98/NT Explorer, you have to close
and re-start Explorer.
- File actions in the file list don't take effect.
- Occasionally, file names are corrupted in the file list and in the detail
view in Windows95/98/NT Explorer.
Auto Completion
[BETA1]
Function Insight
[ALPHA2]
- A Function Insight has been added to the product. The feature provides
automatic function argument "insight" the same way Tag Insight
offers assistance with tag attributes. The feature is currently tied to
the Tag Insight settings (enable/disable, delay time) but will soon have
its own page on the Settings dialog. You therefore have to have Tag Insight
enabled to test the feature. The feature is activated as you type ‘SomeFunction(‘
or type a comma ‘,’ or a space after a comma in the function argument list
(e.g. ‘SomeFunction( arg1, ‘ ). You can test this feature using Cold Fusion’s
Replace function.
- Function insight draws its information about function arguments from
the Expression Builder. Since the Expression Builder is a customizable multi-language
tool you can easily add function libraries for use with Function Insight
by modifying/replacing the Expression Builder definition File (\Extensions\ExpressionElements.vtm).
For now, only Cold Fusion functions ship with the Expression Builder and
so your testing is limited to these functions. You can add a function by
adding TYPE="function" to the E tag representing an expression
element which is a function. The Function Insight parses the function syntax
to extract arguments of a function. (See the book 'Customizing the Development
Environment' on the Help tab for more information on customizing the Expression
Builder.
- If you are a PHP developer you may want to download the PHP Expression
Builder library package from Marjolein Katsma’s site http://hshelp.com/downloads.html
This is a first-class Expression Builder package enabling access to PHP
functions, operators, constants, format strings and other general language
constructs. Once installed, all of its PHP functions become available via
Function Insight.
Resource Tabs
- [ALPHA2] The resource tabs are now much more conservative in creating/refreshing
their controls, so that they are only created the first time the tab is
made visible. This reduces application startup time.
- [ALPHA2] The F9 / View->Resource Tab function now works to toggle
the visibility of resource tabs on/off.
- [ALPHA2] When multiple resource windows are docked to create a tabbed
window, the order of the tabs can be interactively changed by using the
right mouse button to drag a tab to a different position.
- Resource tabs can now be floated as individual windows. An individual
page can be repositioned by dragging the appropriate page tab (with the
small vertical grab bar) with the left mouse button. Resource tabs docked
together to the main HomeSite window can be moved as a group by dragging
the horizontal grab bar at the top of the pages.
- The tabs can be docked to each other in any combination, hidden individually,
or docked to any of the four sides of the main HomeSite window.
- Floating resource windows (or groups of windows) can be made to float
on top of the main HomeSite window. This is done by right clicking on the
window's title bar and selecting "Always on top".
- When resource tabs are docked to each other, the tabs can be positioned
at the top or bottom, and they can display either icons, title captions,
or both. These options are set in the Settings window, under the General
section.
- The position, size, and floating style of the tabs is maintained between
sessions.
Collapsed Text Support
Text in the editor tab can now be collapsed to condense portions of text.
This can be done in any of the following ways:
- Select a section of text and click on the "collapse" icon
( [-] ) which appears in the gutter.
- Select a section of text, click the right mouse button over the selection
and choose "Collapse selection" from the popup menu.
- Right click the mouse over a language tag and select "Collapse
Tag". This will collapse the entire tag, including starting and ending
tags if applicable.
- Right click the mouse over a language tag and select "Collapse
All Identical Tags". This will collapse all tags in the current document
which are the same as the current tag (including nested tags).
- In the Tag Inspector resource tab, click on the blue '<+>' icon
at the top. This will collapse the text based on the current Tag Inspector
outline.
You have a number of options for working with collapsed text:
- Double clicking on a collapsed text graphic will expand that text.
- All collapsed regions can be expanded at once by right clicking in the
editor and selecting "Expand All" from the popup menu.
- Collapsed regions (and the text they contain) can be moved by dragging
and dropping in the same manner as regular text.
- Collapsed regions can be nested within each other.
- The color and font of the collapsed text graphic can be customized in
the Settings window (the expanded option just underneath the Editor setting
in the Settings tree).
- When the mouse is over a collapsed text graphic, a popup hint window
will be displayed showing the full uncollapsed text. This feature can also
be toggled on and off in the Settings window.
Collapsed regions can be preserved on file open and save operations. The
collapsed text section in the Settings dialog allows this option to be toggled
on and off.
CodeSweeper
[BETA1]
A new version of HTML Tidy (July 26, 1999) was incorporated which surfaced
a number of new features.
Note: The 7/26 version of HTML Tidy has broken the New-inline-tags
and new-Blocklevel-tags feature. For this version people will not be able to
enter custom tag lists. Tidy will not recognize them. A fix for this is expected
around 8/15 when the HTML-Tidy author returns from vacation.
- On the checklist-box of options, the following new HTML Tidy settings
have been added:
- "Add XML Processing Instruction" - XML feature, adds XML
specific processing instructuions
- "Fix Backslashes" - fixes incorrect \ characters in relative
HTML links, changes them to /
- "Wrap long ASP lines" - Wraps long <% %> ASP script
lines using the default word wrap setting
- A new dropdown list has been added to support a new feature: DocType.
DocType has the following options:
- AUTO - Select and insert an HTML/XHTML doctype based on a "best
guess" from the HTML coding style
- OMIT - Omit any doctype directive
- STRICT - Insert a strict Doctype directive
- LOOSE - Insert a loose Doctype directive
- CUSTOM - Insert a custom directive (Choosing this one activates
the edit control near the DocType dropdown so they can put in their
own DTD reference like -//W3C//Darren's HTML 7.0//EN which will insert
the following into the document:
<!DOCTYPE HTML PUBLIC "-//W3C//Darren's
HTML 7.0//EN">
- "Drop Font Tags" - Unconditionally drops deprecated Font tags
from the HTML
- [ALPHA2] A new version of HTML Tidy (July 7, 1999) was incorporated.
This version fixes several memory leaks in the Tidy.exe and cleans up some
erroneous behaviors in the Tidy configuration file settings (which we generate
in the background from the Tidy Profile settings). Note that there are several
new directives in the Tidy configuration file layout that were surfaced
in the 07/07/99 Tidy release but have not yet been incorporated into our
Tidy Profile Settings. These include the following:
add-xml-pi
doctype
wrap-asp
fix-backslash
drop-font-tags
These will be implemented
in our user interface a future release. In the meantime if you wish to use
these, you can create your own custom config file manually using any text
editor and save it to your <homesitedir>\extensions\Codesweepers folder
with a .TDY extension.
- [ALPHA2] A URL was added to the Tidy configuration panel to the author's
site: http://www.w3.org/People/Raggett/tidy/
- Free text indenting has been added to the CodeSweeper. Inter-tag text
is now indented along with sub-tags when the "Indent other sub-tag
from this tag" is set on a specific tag.
- Fixed a bug with CodeSweeper tag-specific settings not getting saved
properly.
- The CodeSweeper Settings dialog have been improved and integrated into
the main Settings dialog
- Integrated HTML Tidy as an option in CodeSweeper. HTMLTidy is an independent
open source code HTML verifier and formatter. It also enables the conversion
of HTML to an XML compliant XHTML. HTML Tidy was developed by Dave Ragged.
You can use HTML Tidy as an alternative to the native CodeSweeper engine.
HTML Tidy has strengths as well as weaknesses when compared to the native
CodeSweeper engine. The settings for this formatting engine are also different.
The CodeSweeper settings now enable you to define Native as well as HTML
Tidy CodeSweepers.
- The confusing presence of two Update buttons on the CodeSweeper Settings
dialog has been cleaned up. Now the CodeSweeper settings are saved "as
you go" for CodeSweeper-wide settings. Individual tag-specific settings
still provide an "Update" button. The general settings and tag
specific settings are now also split on a tab page control on separate pages
for further clarity.
- Allaire CodeSweeper Parser fixes (Parser error state detection, aborting
instead of munching HTML)
- Added error logging to CodeSweeper (both interactive and "Silent"
background mode)
- HTML Tidy is based on an executable (Tidy.EXE) which can also be run
as a standalone utility using the command line.
- Allaire discovered memory leaks in Tidy.exe. This is not an issue under
NT but it may be under Win95. Allaire is working with the author to resolve
the leaks.
- An experimental HTML-Tidy XHTML 1.0 conversion feature has been enabled.
- The CodeSweeper Settings dialog have been improved and integrated into
the main Settings dialog.
- The CodeSweeper toolbar button has been improved. A drop-down arrow
can now be used to specify a specific CodeSweeper for the formatting action.
Both Allaire and HTML Tidy CodeSweepers are listed in the drop-down menu.
When the toolbar button is hit the default CodeSweeper is used. Use CodeSweeper
settings to set the default CodeSweeper.
Help and Documentation
- A number of corrections were made to the online HTML Reference, particularly
updates to URLs. (10632, 10650, 10651, 10652, 10657, 10649, 10653, 10658,
10666, 10668, 10643, 10647, 10648, 10641)
- The RMB Selection > Convert Lines to List feature now respects the
case preference. (10535)
- The VTOM documentation was updated to describe the (Width, ExecCommand,
GetApplicationSetting, SetApplicationSetting, LastSavedDate) propeties/functions
together with corresponding Settings and Command constant tables.
- The most recently selected help references in the search dialog will
remain selected across sessions.
- Bookmark titles can now be modified. From the Organize Bookmarks Dialog
click on the Title to modify and then click again like you would when renaming
a file through Windows Explorer. (8910)
- Can now browse for bookmark files rather than typing the path in. From
the Organize Bookmarks Dialog select the Add button and then select the
Browse button in the Add Bookmark dialog to browse for the file to bookmark
Expression Builder
- The Expression Builder is now resizable. The splitter bar above the
help pane can also be used to modify the size of the help display.
- When inserting functions in Expression Builder the first argument of
the function is now automatically pre-selected for further editing.
Quickbar
- Enabled the docking of the Quickbar to the right or left of the other
toolbars when they are docked.
- Made Quickbar floatable. Select the double vertical lines to the left
of the Quickbar to either dock it somewhere else or make it a floating window.
Link Validator
The ability to cancel out of a single link verification through the validator.
Once a link verification is in progress (after right clicking the link and selecting
"Verify this Link" you may now select the Stop button to cancel the
validation.
Toolbars
- [BETA1] Added new toolbar called "CFML Flow" that contains
toolbuttons for: CFTRY, CFCATCH, CFTHROW, CFLOCK, CFCASE, CFDEFAULTCASE,
CFSWITCH, CFSCRIPT, CFBREAK, CFEXIT, CFIF, CFELSE, CFELSEIF and CFLOOP.
(8893)
- [ALPHA2] Removed toolbar-related screen flicker at startup
- [ALPHA2] Changed the way toolbutton images are stored and loaded to
decrease startup times
- [ALPHA2] Modified the way the toolbars are retrieved from the 'tbr'
files to decrease startup times
- Added floating help that shows the toolbar name, when you float the
mouse over the dock/undock bar on the left-hand side of the toolbar. Hold
the mouse pointer over the double vertical lines to the left of the toolbar
to see the floating help
- Added a menu command to the Toolbar menu that moves all open toolbars
to the Quickbar. Right click any of the Toolbars and Select "Move All
to Quickbar".
- Added toolbuttons for tags CFCASE, CFDEFAULTCASE, CFSWITCH, CFBREAK,
and CFABORT to the CFML toolbar
Settings
- The Settings dialog has been redesigned. The tab-centric interface has
been transformed to a tree-based navigational system. The location and logical
organization of the various settings remained to a great extent unchanged.
- The CodeSweeper settings which used to be in a separate dialog are now
integrated in the main Settings dialog. The settings try can now be used
to navigate directly between the different CodeSweeper profiles. CodeSweeper
settings now support two types of CodeSweepers: Native and HTML Tidy. See
the CodeSweeper section for more details.
- Set the "allow undo after save" option to true as the default
New Project Architecture
- Changes in the project architecture will be incorporated in a new deployment
engine. This engine is currently at the design phase. As a result features
such as Upload and Synchronize are not functional is this release of the
product.
- At present it is not possible to link project folders to remote subdirectories.
Thus, the Explicit Inclusive and Auto Inclusive Folders must be linked to
local files.
- Filters on Auto-Inclusive Files have not be implemented. This feature
will enable the user to limit auto-inclusion of files based on a list of
file extensions (e.g. auto-include only gif; jpg ) .
- The Add file dialog – contains a list of all files within a sub-directory.
The dialog should not show files that exist within the project. Similarly,
the user should be allowed to switch sub-directories by clicking on the
folders within the file list.
Source Control Integration
- HomeSite 4.0 introduced project integration with Source Control products.
This version of HomeSite maintains source control integration by allowing
the user to map a project to a source control project folder. In addition,
the 4.5 version of projects allows the user to map individual folders to
source control projects.
- When a project is mapped to Source Control, the user can perform source
control operations on any files in that project. HomeSite will attempt to
determine the Source Control project path by adding the project path to
the project mapping.
- In the 4.5 release, it is possible to change the Source Control mapping
of a specific folder to a different location within the source tree. Once
the user has performed this mapping, future source control operations for
this folder will not occur against the default project path. Instead, Source
Control operations will occur against the mapping for a specific folder.
- Late testing indicates some instability may exist with this feature
in the Alpha release. Please report any problems to the forum or the bug
tracking system.
CSS Style Editor
- [BETA1] The RMB menu "Edit Linked StyleSheet..." now forwards
the currently edited document to TopStyle for display in its Preview pane.
You can therefore see the changes to the appearance of your document as
you author the CSS file. This feature only works with the full version of
TopStyle.
- [BETA1] The STYLE tag editor used to invoke TopStyle as an in-line style
editor when editing the contents of the style. The dialog now correctly
calls TopStyle so that the entire style can be edited.
- The Allaire Style Editor (STYLEED.EXE) has been replaced with a ‘Lite’
version of Nick Bradbury’s new creation, called TopStyle. The Lite version
of TopStyle ships with the product. The Lite version currently only supports
IN-LINE style editing (from tag editors, tag inspector, etc.). It does not
support DIRECT editing of entire CSS files. This functionality will be added
to the Lite version within the next month or so. For now, the Style Editor
toolbar button as well as the right-mouse click menu on CSS references in
the LINK tag do not work. As a workaround, you can either download the evaluation
version of the full TopStyle product at www.bradsoft.com
or copy the old STYLEED.EXE into the new installation directory.
Remote Servers
Allaire is currently working on a cleaner integration of remote server access
into the product. As a result of this the remote servers (FTP and RDS-CFStudio
only) defined on a system are shared among the different applications (HomeSite
vs. CFStudio) as well as between different versions of the products (HomeSite
4.0.1 and HomeSite4.5) . Therefore when you configure a remote server it will
automatically appear under the server list in all of the products/versions.
Allaire is working on an import utility to automatically upgrade your existing
list of servers to the new system.
VTML Enhancements
- [BETA1] The attribute INLINESTYLE was added to the syntax for the VTML
control TYPE="StyleTextArea". This attribute controls whether
the Style Editor button edits the contents of the textarea as an "in-line
style" or edits the contents as a full style sheet with mutliple selectors.
By default this attribute is set to YES. You need to use INLINESTYLE="No"
to enable editing of full style sheets. This feature was necessary for propper
operation of the control on the STYLE tag editor. See STYLE.VTM as an example.
This attribute was only added to the StyleTextArea contro. The StyleTextBox
control does not allow this attribute.
- [ALPHA2] Added $$TAGSTRING and $$WHOLETAGSTRING to the VTML ATTRIB tag
syntax for populating editor controls with special values. Until now, only
$$TAGBODY was enabled to populate a specific control wit the body of a tag.
The new variable names can be used to populate controls with the start-tag
string or the whole tag including its start-tag, body and the end-tag. This
feature was requested by the developers of tag editors using custom ActiveX
controls. Since the ActiveX can only be populated by a single value the
architecture was limited to a single attribute value or the tag body. The
ActiveX controls can now be passed the entire tag for custom processing
and specialized tag editor behavior.
General Enhancements
- [ALPHA2] The operation triggered by the right-mouse-click menu (Selection
-> Convert Lines to Ordered/Unordered List ) was updated to enclose each
list item with an </LI> end tag.
- Files with XML and XSL extensions are now recognized as editable documents
and appear under the web documents filter.
Fixed in BETA1
Quick List dialog
- Alt-T now provides access to the Type drop down listbox.
- The Clear button has been moved to the far right to follow more consistently
Windows UI standards [10466].
- Sensitivity to the Tab key from inside the list of items was disabled
as this interrupted the Tab order between other controls. Arrow keys can
be used to navigate between the list items instead.
- The behavior of the ENTER key was fixed in the Quick List dialog. The
ENTER key now moves the cursor to the following item in the items editor.
When on the final item the ENTER key adds a new item and positions the cursor
on it. A new option to add the LI end tag was also implemented via a checkbox.
Other fixes
- A new version of the JS Wizard was included in this release. The new
VTM contains a fix for dates not being displayed properly and it's more
Y2K-ready.
- Virtual Folders will now check the registry settings to see if the user
has specified a default directory for all dialogs. If the user has specified
such a path, Virtual Folders will default to this path. If no default options
are specified, Virtual Folders will always begin in the project subdirectory.
(10292)
- If projects cannot find a file, a message box displays. (10492)
- Corrected a spelling error in custom wizard dialog. (10502)
- Corrected a spelling error on the RMB QuickBar menu. (10513)
- Corrected display of HomeSite 4.5 desktop shortcut. (10290)
- Quick List item contents still visible after reducing number of rows.
(10539)
- Selecting the F4 key will now properly activate the Tag Inspector. (10782)
- The RMB menu "Edit Linked StyleSheet ..." on the LINK tag
now correctly locates CSS files referenced via a relative path. (10696)
- The new Auto Completion feature closes double quotes. (6450)
- When the option to browse help in a separate panel was set and the Help
resource tab was floated or docked to another window area, an access violation
occurred. This has been fixed. (10489)
Fixed in ALPHA2
- Several menu items on the Local and Remote files Tab's right-mouse menu
are enabled even when no file is selected. (10077)
- Single-click undocking a quickbar tool while the quickbar itself is
docked causes the undocked tool to move to strange, sometimes hidden places.
(10047)
- Hiding/redisplaying quickbar when it is docked left eliminates the docking
space on the right, causing other toolbars to disappear. ... and other weirdness.
(10320)
- Browse Tab: Previous button goes back two pages, Next button stays disabled.
(10139)
- Redocking quickbar adds extra space below all toolbars. (10318)
- Docking space should shrink when toolbars fit into one line. (10324)
- Using Tag Inspector on an img in design mode causes access violations.
(10181)
- Verify Links hangs after verifying 4th document. Hitting stop than start
again has no affect. (10354)
- If you deleted your default Codesweeper (Allaire or Tidy) and then clicked
on the Codesweeper default toolbutton, you would get a message that the
default codesweeper was missing or deleted, followed by an Access Violation.
The Access Violation has been fixed.
- Several of the Tidy configuration settings on the Combo Checklist configuration
box were accidentally cross-wired to the wrong back-end configuration file
settings.
- If you made some changes to a Codesweeper configuration, then selected
a different one using the navigation tree, and then came back to the original
one, your setting changes would not be saved. An implicit write of changes
now occurs when you move between Codesweeper tree elements.
Fixed Since 4.0.1

- Fixed problem with left and right arrow key display in dropdown list
for certain tags in Tag Inspector. (7989)
- All toolbar positions are now retrieved before updating the docking
panel rather than updating for each toolbar individually. (4791, 7475)

Known Issues
See the Project
Architecture Known Issues section for information on current problems with
the new projects implementation.
- When the Resource Tabs are docked to the main form, clicking the "x"
closes the tabs, however they can not be made to reappear using the View
> Resource Tab (F9) command. To redisplay them, select the View >
Resource windows > Dock All menu option.
- When searching for text which is contained in a collapsed region, the
region will not automatically expand to show the matching text. This will
be fixed in the next release.
- After deleting a remote folder, do a manual refresh from the top level
of the directory tree. (9337)
- The Remote Save As command will overwrite an existing file without displaying
a warning message. (9333)
- If you select a remote folder (FTP) and then try to delete it using
the RMB "Delete Folder" command, you will get an error. This error
will also occur if another user or application has the folder selected.
The workaround is to select another directory, then right-click on the folder
you want to delete and run the delete command. This limitation will be addressed
in a future release. (8409)
- The source code preservation employed when switching from Design mode
back to Edit mode is limited. Sometimes tag or attribute case is changed,
and white space may be altered. Allaire is working with Microsoft on these
issues for the next version of DHTMLEdit.
- When you first run the Validator, there is a brief delay while the validation
engine caches tag data.
- IntelliMouse support requires the latest drivers Microsoft drivers.
You can download them from www.microsoft.com/products/hardware/mouse/driver/.
- The Microsoft Office spell checker crashes if you select the "English
(Australian)" dictionary. The only work-arounds are to use the integrated
spell checker or to select another dictionary, such as "English (United
Kingdom)".
- In some cases filenames are duplicated in the Local File list after
changes to the following checkboxes in the "Options > Settings >
General" tab:
- 'Flag read only files in the file list'
- 'Dynamically
refresh file list when changes occur in current directory'
The workaround
is to right mouse click on any file in the list and select the Refresh command.
This problem will be addressed in a future release. (9000)
