You'll see OS/2 and Linux running seamlessly together,
connected on the same network and using each other's files
when you join us at Warp Expo West.

When you need to add to your network and don't want to
dedicate an entire OS/2 machine, Linux can come in handy.
"It's a decent file and printer server for OS/2 and other
desktop systems," says Hugh Daschbach, one of the two
OS/2-Linux lecturers, "and it provides a rock solid server
platform for mail, news, or web service."

In this extensive seminar you'll be shown how to install
Linux as a second operating system on an OS/2 machine, how
to access HPFS partitions with Linux and the new HPFS
functionality expected in Linux 2.4, running Samba to
provide LAN Manager networking services for file and printer
sharing, accessing Linux files from the OS/2 client, using
Linux as the server, the Linux configuration screens for
setting up your networking capabilities, disk partitioning
considerations when using Linux and Linux with OS/2, dual
booting with LILO, implementing the X Window system, and the
X Window software packages available.

Hugh Daschbach and Michael Elliott are both seasoned OS/2
users, and both are also members of the Unix Users
Association of Southern California.  Together they will
showcase the methods involved in combining these two very
different operating systems into one robust network.

Daschbach is a software engineer at Cisco Systems, and
Elliott develops on JavaOS at Sun Microsystems.  Their
combined knowledge will enhance any network and will add
functionality to your future networks.

You _will_ learn how to connect these two platforms when
you attend Warp Expo West!

Warp Expo West will be held on September 18 near Disneyland in sunny Southern California.  All the info is at
