WarpBar Version 0.91
FreeWare Released

Developer Alex Spanidis updates his freeware WarpBar to version 0.91 and the archive (WARPB091.ZIP, 79K) was uploaded on Pete Norloff's BBS (http://www.os2bbs.com), the world largest OS/2 repository.

Requirements

* Warp 3.0 with Fixpak #32 or later and Warp 4.0+
* EMX Runtime. You may find it at hobbes as emxrt.zip

Tips

* Click with mouse button 2 on the WarpBar brings up the popup menu.

* Change the font, the text color or background color using os/2's drag'n'drop
from the font and color palette respectively e.g. while pressing the CTRL key
drag'n'drop a color to change the text color or just drag'n'drop a color to
change the background color.

* Click with mouse button 1 on the cpu button toggles the graph's appearance.

Known bugs or limitations to fix

+ The Background option doesn't work ok on all systems.
+ TCP/IP statistics may not work on systems with IBM TCP/IP 3.0 or earlier.
+ WarpBar may not start on systems without MMOS2 (multimedia support) installed.
+ Display refresh isn't good enough.

What's new in WarpBar

Symbol meanings:
+ added
- removed
* changed
= fixed

Changes from 0.9
+ Option for decimals.

+ Full Size option.

+ Option for visibility in the window-list proposed by dink
<dink@linnea.aso.edu.stockholm.se>.

= Fixed a bug when WarpBar doesn't come to the top when it is selected from
the window-list or ALT-TAB window, pointed by Juan Miguel
<theoden@arrakis.es>.

Changes from 0.86
= Fixed (hopefully) problems in POP checking with some servers. If someone
still have some kind of problem please e-mail me. Thanx to
Bjoern Karlowsky <pille@chillout.org> for his feedback.

* WarpBar saves its settings into a standard OS/2 INI file using the
OS/2's API. From now on you won't need to delete it every time a new
version of WarpBar is released with new options!

+ Option to adjust space between values.

+ 3D Text option.

* Reorganized the settings notebook. Now it is resisable and WarpBar
remembers its size and position. Where there is an Apply button this must be
pressed to save the contents of the entryfields.

Changes from 0.85
+ You can choose Network interface from the settings notebook. TCP/IP
statistics should work OK for TCP/IP 4.0 or later.

- Hide frame controls option removed as I don't find a reason why someone would
like to see the titlebar. :)

* Entry fields had a limit of 32 characters by default. This was a big
limitation for the Mailer path, Run window, etc. Now they are set to
CCHMAXPATH which EMX sets to 260 characters. Thanks to Paul D. Ginzburg
<pdg@hia.net> for pointing out this limitation!

Changes from 0.83
* When you have 1-9 new e-mails warpbar shows the number, for greater than 9 you should see an interrogation mark (?).

+ Added a Play sound option now when new mail arrives proposed by
Jose Oswaldo Barros de Souza <joswa@altavista.net>.

= Fixed a bug with System UpTime when greater than 24 hours, pointed out by
John Thompson <john.thompson@ibm.net>. Thanks John :)

+ Added 4 new items for TCP/IP incoming/outcoming data/speed. They should appear only when a PPP connection is established.

= Fixed the settings notebook appearance for Warp 3.0 users without WarpSans.

= Fixed a refresh problem in 1024x768 with small fonts, pointed out by
Sotiris Kiapidis <psychocut@hotmail.com>.

+ Cpu text meter added, proposed by mark davidson <mad@ziplink.net>.

Some other minor fixes and changes.

Changes from 0.82
* Cpu Meter displays 60 seconds of history now (previous was 50 secs). This
could be a configurable option so if someone wants it please let me know.

+ Display seconds with time option now added again.

= Fixed the CDROM ckeck bug, pointed out by Julio Biason
<warper@nutecnet.com.br>.

+ Added an item for Free Total Memory i.e. Virtual+Physical, proposed by Julio Biason <warper@nutecnet.com.br>.

+ Click with mouse button 1 on the bar now cycles through the drives
if warpbar monitors ONE drive only.

= Fixed the non-filled mode of the cpu graph when cpu usage is near 100%.

Changes from 0.81
= Some fixes.

Changes from 0.8
= Some fixes.

+ Option to remove 3D border, proposed by Sotiris Kiapidis
<psychocut@hotmail.com>.

* Cpu meter refresh time interval is set to 1 sec default.

- Double click on the bar to change the disk drive is no longer valid, you
may although monitor more than one drives with this version.
Proposed by Rafael Manasyan <Rafael.Manasyan@p25.f1037.n5020.z2.fidonet.org>.

Minor improvements.

Changes from 0.7
+ Added a graphic CPU meter much like the one in WarpCenter.

+ Added a run button.

* Some minor changes to the notebook (not finished yet).

+ A rexx script to create WarpBar's icon on the desktop.

Changes from 0.65

+ Mail button which changes its color to green when new mail arrives and fires
up your mailer.
