TSE32 Pro programmers' editor from SemWare has been updated from version 2.80b to version 2.80j and the patches has just rebuilded in order to add more improvements. If you are registered user like me, Macarlo, download the appropriate patch and make your upgrade for free. In the photo below you can see TSE32 Pro running on @Macarlo's NT4 SP6 Web IDE for HTML code depuration:

Update TSE Pro/32 v2.8b to TSE Pro/32 v2.80j

To install the patch:

• Create a directory on a drive with at least 2 megs of free disk space
• Change to that directory
• unzip the p28_280j.zip file: unzip p28_280j
• run the following, from that directory:

  e32 -epatch

Notes:

The above command line ("e32 -epatch") runs the editor and automatically executes patch.mac. e32 refers to your copy of TSE Pro/32 v2.8b. It is assumed that e32 is in your path. If your copy of TSE Pro/32 v2.8b is named something other than e32.exe, rename your copy to e32.exe in order to run the patch.

The patch will create a new file called newe32.exe. You can rename your e32.exe to olde32.exe, and rename newe32.exe to e32.exe.

Once you are satisfied that the new e32.exe is working, you can delete the olde32.exe file, as well as patch.dat, patch.exe, and patch.doc.

All of your previous settings (colors, options, key definitions, etc) will be carried over to the newe32.exe file.

This patch fixes the so-called year 2038 problem. TSE Pro/32 (previously) used the C Run-time-library to get the time and date. This prevented the editor from running if the system date was set to 2038 or later. This version reads the time and date using the Win32 API, alleviating the 2038 problem.

Additional e32.exe changes from 2.80b to 2.80j

• Various tweaks in the never ending battle with Win32 regarding console I/O (keyboard input, video output).
• Syntax highlighting: better number token handling, various optimizations.
• When quitting a file, keep it locked (if locking is on) until return from the _ON_FILE_QUIT_ event.
• Fix problem where trailing spaces were always being removed when pasting from the Windows Clipboard or when a file was inserted.
• Various tweaks in routines that deal with filenames, to better handle files with spaces in their names.
• "Set as Current Directory" added to File PickList menu.
• Turn Syntax highlighting off in the List() command.
• Increase size of file I/O buffers.
• When saving a file, check to see if it has been changed by another process.
• Fix problem with saving the state, vs. the opening menu, and reentering the editor.
• Fix problem in find-in-multiple files with an extraneous PushPosition, if the find fails.  

Update TSE Pro/32 v2.8 and v2.8a to TSE Pro/32 v2.8j

- Licensed TSE Pro/32 v2.8 or 2.8a users -

To update to TSE Pro/32 v2.8j, you will need to download and apply two patches.

FIRST: Download and apply the patch - (1,109,364 bytes) for TSE Pro/32 v2.8b.
SECOND: Download the patch (referenced at the bottom of this page) for TSE Pro/32 v2.8j.  

To install the patch for TSE Pro/32 v2.8b:

• Create a directory on a drive with at least 5 megs of free disk space
• Change to that directory
• unzip the p28_280b.zip file: unzip p28_280b
• run the following, from that directory:

  e32 -epatch

Notes:

The above command line ("e32 -epatch") runs the editor and automatically executes patch.mac. e32 refers to your copy of TSE Pro/32 v2.8. It is assumed that e32 is in your path. If your copy of TSE Pro/32 v2.8 is named something other than e32.exe and/or is not in your path, substitute the name and path (if necessary) of your copy in place of e32 when running the above command line.

While the patch will save your current settings (colors, options, etc), it will not be able to save any custom key definitions, and it does not know which .ui file you have installed.

It is suggested that you install the patch to a new directory, and then merge in any changes you may have made to the previous version.

Once you have updated to TSE Pro/32 v2.8b, you may want to download the patch (79K zip file) to upgrade Version 2.8b to Version 2.8j.  Note that this patch updates only the Version 2.8b executable to Version 2.8j.  
 

Update TSE Pro/32 v2.6 to TSE Pro/32 v2.8j

- Licensed TSE Pro/32 v2.6, 2.6a, 2.6b, or 2.6c users -

To update to TSE Pro/32 v2.8j, you will need to download and apply two patches.

FIRST: Download and apply the patch - (1,286,578 bytes) for TSE Pro/32 v2.8b.
SECOND: Download the patch (referenced at the bottom of this page) for TSE Pro/32 v2.8j.  

To install the patch for TSE Pro/32 v2.8b:

• Create a directory on a drive with at least 5 megs of free disk space
• Change to that directory
• unzip the p26_280b.zip file: unzip p26_280b
• run the following, from that directory:

  e32 -epatch

Notes:

The above command line ("e32 -epatch") runs the editor and automatically executes patch.mac. e32 refers to your copy of TSE Pro/32 v2.6. It is assumed that e32 is in your path.
