The Ultra 450 workstation is a desk-side system supporting
up to four 300 MHz UltraSPARC-II processors, and 4GB of memory, and up to two of
Sun's top-of-the line Elite3D m6 graphics systems. It is ideally suited for complex
multi-threaded or multi-tasking applications requiring large data sets, where
users need high graphical performance and multiple simultaneous views of the problem.

Excellent overall application performance. With up to four 300 MHz UltraSPARC-II
processors, the Ultra 450 workstation is designed to deliver the utmost in performance
on multi-threaded applications. It is also the only workstation to support two Elite3D
m6 graphics systems.
Capable of meeting current and future requirements. Ultra 450 can run multiple disk
arrays from its dual UltraSCSI buses to handle very large data sets. It also has
10 I/O slots distributed among 6 independent PCI buses to provide high throughput
and expandability.
Works with workstations and PCs. Ultra 450 is 100% binary compatible with all
Solaris applications, meaning you can run the same applications throughout the
Sun product line. Ultra 450 inter-operates with PCs, so it works with other groups
within your organization. With Solaris PC file viewer, you have the ability to view
popular PC files or attachments instantly, whether or not the originating application
is installed on your desktop. And the optional SoftWindows 95 provides PC application
compatibility.
Fast and realistic visualization and imaging. Ultra 450 allows you to run multiple
high-performance graphics subsystems with Elite3D m6 simultaneously at full speed.
