Boosts Privacy, Functionality.

NEW YORK - Sun Microsystems Inc. and
CNNfn today announced CNNfn Investment Tracker, a free,
feature-rich investment tracking service that allows individual
investors to keep their portfolios confidential. The CNNfn
Investment Tracker is built using Sun Microsystems' Java cross
platform programming language and Marimba's Castanet
distribution technology, and, unlike other marketbasket tools, is
completely confidential. The information is stored only on
individuals' hard drives, with all computations taking place on their
own computers. Lou Dobbs, president of CNNfn, launched the
new service at the Securities Industry Association conference today
in New York.

CNNfn's Investment Tracker features unique clip and news sort
functionality that continually retrieves relevant articles mirroring the
individual user's portfolio. News from the CNNfn.com web site,
including articles from The Red Herring, Bridge News and
investment analysis from Zacks Investment Research and Lipper
Fund Reports, can be accessed immediately by clicking the "News"
prompt. More in-depth information is available by linking to the
CNN Custom News site, a database of more than 50,000 articles.

In addition, a "breaking news" alert provides instant access to
headlines and stories with the potential to affect investments_a
feature previously available only to professional investors for a
substantial fee.

"CNNfn Investment Tracker provides individual investors with all
the necessary tools to track and manage their investments live, over
the Internet, and in complete privacy," said Dobbs. "We are
delighted to provide CNNfn.com's millions of users with a solid
financial tool built using the latest technology from Sun and
Marimba."

The CNNfn Investment Tracker is a cross-platform Java application
that runs on the user's own computer. Once installed, a user selects
a portfolio of stocks and market indices. Stock portfolios are
updated every five minutes as new financial information is
downloaded invisibly to the user while on the Internet. The CNNfn
Investment Tracker then tracks that information without the need to
navigate the Web or visit a server. The user can follow current and
historical price information, look for trends and create charts
reflecting their stocks' performance. At no time is the user's
investment information stored on, or transmitted across, the Internet.

"This highly sophisticated solution is testimony to the deep value
CNNfn places on its audience and a strong indicator of how far it
will go to maintain its bond of trust with the public," said Scott
McNealy, president, chairman and CEO, Sun Microsystems, Inc.
"The CNNfn Investment Tracker is the perfect marriage between
technology and content."

CNNfn's Investment Tracker application incorporates Sun's Java
technology and Marimba's Castanet push technology to create a
powerful and seamless financial tool for users who visit
CNNfn.com.

The application is delivered through a custom database built with
Java technology, running the SolarisTM 2.6 operating environment
on a SunTM EnterpriseTM 4000 server. The Castanet technology
benefits the user by enabling application and data updates to occur
automatically without additional downloads.

The CNNfn Investment Tracker is a free service of CNNfn.
