InnoVal is seeking OS/2
beta testers for RazDaz

InnoVal is seeking OS/2 beta testers for a new Java application, code
named RazDaz
. RazDaz adds significant function for almost any email
user. Initially, RazDaz will be supported for the following OS/2
email clients: MR2/ICE, Netscape, PMMail, Post Road Mailer, and J
Street Mailer*. It should, however, work with any standard POP3 email
client software running on any Java 1.1 enabled platform. The initial
price point is $20.00 for a single license with significant discounts
for volume, academic, and enterprise licenses to follow. The beta
program will begin during June.

Anyone interested in beta testing RazDaz should contact Marianne
Roderus as soon as possible at innoval@ibm.net. Preference will be
given to J Street Mailer users and those with experience running Java
applications. For additional information about InnoVal and the J
Street Mailer, please see http://www.innoval.com.

About RazDaz

RazDaz supports automatic time-interval and manual mail retrieval
from one or more email accounts to a local queue. Mail can be read
into a mail client at local disk speeds. Internet connection is not
needed when retrieving email to your client email program if the mail
has already been retrieved from your accounts' email servers and
placed in the queue. For dial-in users however, RazDaz may be
configured to check for new email when a connection is found. The
mail client does need to be running for mail retrieval to local
queues. The main benefits for RazDaz are faster mail retrieval when
working with an email client and reduced connection times.

Many-to-one and one-to-many email mapping is supported. At the
simplest level you can map messages from multiple accounts into a
single client-side account. With filters, you can move email from one
account to another client-side account. Customers with virtual
domains can divide email addressed to numerous people, when collected
under a single virtual pop account. Since RazDaz includes a POP3
server, different users can access email from RazDaz when using
different locations (the RazDaz machine must be connected to the
Internet for this capability). Organize mail the way you want to and
overcome limitations of your email client software. For instance,
create your own client-side accounts when working with mailing lists.

Preview your Email An additional feature, "Preview mail," gives users
the ability to list mail on a POP3 or an IMAP4 server. Email can be
selectively read without downloading, downloaded for your mail
client, or deleted. Being able to delete mail without downloading is
particularly useful for removing obvious spams and getting rid of
"stuck" messages. Reading messages while leaving them on a POP3 or
IMAP4 server is also useful for checking office mail from home or
while away from your primary email client machine. Additional Bonus
Features

Detail or summary retrieval logs are available in RazDaz, showing you
when your email was retrieved from one or more accounts. Logs will
also show failed attempts due to timeouts and down conditions.

Advanced filters, similar to those found in Innoval's J Street
Mailer, may be used to move or copy email between client-side
accounts, to send automatic replies, to forward email to another
email address, to notify an email address that a message has been
received (useful for email enabled pagers and cell phones), and to
isolate web-generated forms from email clients into separate
directories for separate processing.

Powerful spam filters can be configured to trap spam through specific
wording, origin IP addresses, from and reply-to tags, and rules that
you set on or off. You have complete control over all spam filter
settings. Spam messages can be placed in a special spam trap account.

People with a rudimentary knowledge of Java may also create filter
class files. These work with a series of preset variables (e.g. from,
subject, body, etc.) so that no file reading or writing is necessary.
A sample script is provided along with instructions for implementing
your own filters in Java.

IMAP4 to POP3 conversion in RazDaz allows users to access IMAP4
accounts as though they were POP3. Some IMAP4 servers also allow POP3
commands. RazDaz is especially useful for people using POP3- only
email clients who need to access IMAP4 servers that do not accept
POP3 commands.

Sign up today to be one of the first beta testers for RazDaz. Anyone
interested should contact Marianne Roderus at innoval@ibm.net. If you
are a J Street Mailer Charter User, please be sure to mention that
fact.

* Note: most of the features included in RazDaz are included, or will
be added to J Street Mailer.
