BlueSky
Innovations has been released the version 3.0.10 of Power Boot. I, @Macarlo, registered user and beta tester,
received the file (PB3010.ZIP, 43,8KB) by e-mail, attached. I' m running fine Power Boot here on my Windows
2000 HDD and recommend it! The advantage is you not need use a primary partition
as IBM BootManager and you can boot all OS you have, from primary or logical
parttitions. Have you installed Warp Server for e-business (a.k.a. Aurora) and
your IBM BootManager was replaced by Aurora BootManager and you no more boots
Windows 98 partition? Easy, man! Power Boot is the solution!

About Power Boot
Power Boot is a boot utility
that allows you to select which Operating System you want to boot from.
If you want to install more than one Operating System on your PC, you will
want to install them in different partitions so that each Operating System runs
in its native environment.
All you need then, is the ability to boot from the different partitions,
Power Boot is more versatile and much less expensive than other popular programs.
If you use Partition-It or Partition Magic, Power Boot is an ideal and
inexpensive companion. You can create multiple partitions with Partition-It
or Partition Magic and then use Power Boot to boot from any one of the partitions.
If your company is using Partition Magic 3.0 and you don't want to pay
an exhorbitant price for Boot Manager licences, Power Boot is an excellent alternative.
Power Boot Features include:
Unlike OS/2 Boot Manager, Power Boot does not occupy a primary partition
entry and you can therefore use all four primary partitions in a hard disk for
different operating
systems.
OS/2 boot drive letter: you can choose which drive letter an OS/2 HPFS
partition can be booted with.
Hide/unhide partitions on the fly as you boot up. There is no need to run
another program in order to hide or unhide partitions.
One touch option to configure your system to update an operating system.
One touch option to configure your system to install an OEM version of
an operating system e.g. Windows95 OSR2. Very often, these OEM versions will
not install if they detect another operating system.
Power-Chain enabled. You can install more than one utility in the MBR of
your hard drive.
Features new to Version 2.0 include:
File system independant: Power Boot still works when you decide to upgrade
the file system (e.g. FAT16 to FAT32).
Simple to use: auto-detects partitions and no configuration is necessary
to use it.
Password: to prevent someone else from changing the boot defaults or to
boot from another partition. Or, as one user put it, to prevent kids from booting
other more 'sensitive' operating systems.
Save last boot: if you boot from an extended partition or from a partition
on a hard drive other than the first one, this partition will become the default
partition. Power Boot will always boot this partition without any user intervention.
Save option settings: all options you set during a boot session with Power
Boot will be saved so that the next time Power Boot starts up, it will use the
same options.
Variable timeout: the timeout delay is can now be between 4 to 32 seconds.
Quiet mode: Power Boot can now start up with just a simple copyright message.
Drive swap: if you choose to boot from a partition that is not on the first
hard drive, you can select a mode whereby this hard drive will be logically
swapped with the first one.
