 Hi All.
PMJPEG has been updated. Here is an excellent tool for image capture and manipulation on OS/2 Warp. I'm registered user and recommend it enthusiastically. PMJPEG was my first image tool on OS/2 and I remember the day of my register: talking with the developer, Ken Yee (or Norman Yee, I'm not sure!) by e-mail he said that was a student of Latin language , like me.

PMJPEG is a shareware image viewer with image processing and conversion capabilities for OS/2. PMJPEG is a 32-bit port of WinJPEG to OS/2 2.x and above with OS/2-specific features.

PMJPEG has been updated on 1-2-2000 and includes the following changes:

  - Fixed the PMJPEG file save dialog so that it shows PNG in the filter list.

  - If you used the PMJPEG file dialog to save to a BMP file, it would save with the wrong compression option.

  - If you view the file info of a file created in Y2K, the month would
    be off by 1.

  - Could not read Windows BMP Version 5 (uncompressed or RLE).

  - Fixed a bug in decoding PICT/JPEG files.

Slide show

A slideshow can be initiated from the OS/2 command line by executing the following at the OS/2 prompt:

     pmjpeg [filename 1] [filename 2] [filename 3] ... [filename n]

The files are displayed in the order in which they are entered on the command line.  Also, the slideshow options that were saved by the Save All Options menu item are used.  If no options were saved, the default slideshow options are used.  There is no limit to the number of files that you enter.  The only restrictions are the number of characters that you can fit in one command at the OS/2 prompt.

For example, if you wanted to display the files, "colrtest.jpg", "mirri3.jpg", and "image1.gif", in the order listed , type

     pmjpeg colrtest.jpg mirri3.jpg image1.gif

This example assumes that PMJPEG is in your search path and this command is executed in the directory containing the images.  If OS/2 can't find "pmjpeg.exe" or the images, you can prefix "pmjpeg.exe" or the images with a standard OS/2 path.

Also, you can have wildcards in the filenames.  For example, typing

     pmjpeg *.jpg sample?.gif

will display all the files with the ".jpg" extension and all "sample?.gif" files in the current path.
