Editor's Note: Some Papyrus users has sent e-mails us in defense of the release 8.17, English version of Papyrus word processor for OS/2 Warp, reviewed by our exec Macarlo. He decided remake his rating for Papyrus from 3 Butterflies to 4 Butterflies. We selected one of these e-mails for publication and here is it below.

Hi,
I'd like to express my disagreement with your rather critical evaluation
of Papyrus 8 for OS/2 published on your site. Papyrus developer is right
in that it is not fair to judge any software by features it never claimed
to have in the first place. As a Papyrus user myself, I judge it as an
excellent wordprocessor with strong DTP features and unique
database/hyperlinks support which make it a true star among WP software no
matter on what OS platform. It has its weak points one of which is rather
basic HTML support, but this is clearly stated in documentation and
obviously was an explicit intention of developers, who opted to make a
good WP/DTP package instead of another bloated buggy everything-in-one
monster of which we have seen so many. I personally would not blame them
for this decision since static HTML has very limited use in modern Web
technologies and I have not used it for the last 2 years. Your argument
that other WP software can do HTML better is a non-point in my view since
if you try to really **use** any of these features you will find that
their practical value is almost zero, due to primitive and buggy HTML code
generated. So again, in my view it is a much better compromise to develope
good tight WP package and leave all gimmiks aside, which Papyrus achieves
not only successfully but with grace and beauty!
DISCLAIMER: I do not have and never had any affiliation with R.O.M.
Logicware nor with any of their developers and everything expressed above
is my personal view only.
Cheers,
Ivan
