Major Fixes in Object Desktop 2.0 EE Beta 2
Enhanced Folder
1. Backspace key used to browse to parent folder should not
interfere
with renaming objects or combo box entry.
2. Title bar arrow button should be visible when toolbar is not on when
browse mode is used.
3. Settings for icon and title presentation were reversed.
Control Center
1. Multiple IP interfaces should be configurable for Object
Netscan
(see new properties page 2 for setup)
2. Virtual Desktop should assign applications to recorded layout
designation when starting when option to "retrieve" out of bounds
windows is on (worked for "follow"). Windows that are activated
that have been assigned a desktop in a layout now causes a desktop
switch similar to "follow".
Window Controls
1. Title bar repainting tweaked to show proper border color
at
top of frame windows.
Object Archive
1. Default open on archive elements did not open archive element
(did not extract and view).
Object Package
1. Packages previously created with Object Desktop
1.5 or Object
Desktop Professional 1.5 would automatically open when double
clicked.
Installation
To install the Object Desktop 2.0 EE Beta 2 update, you must
shutdown OS/2 and reboot to a command-line (Alt-F1 when the
"boot blob" appears on Warp 4 and then select F2). Simply copy
the five updated .DLL files from this package to your OBJDESK
directory and reboot. That's all it takes.
Note: depending on your level of paranoia and skittishness with
beta software, you may want to consider making backups of the
.DLL's replaced prior to copying over the new versions. For the
most basic backup, simply create a subdirectory under your
OBJDESK directory and copy the old .DLL files there.
Please see the accompanying OD20B2.FIX file for details of the
major changes to this update.
And for those of you who have not been able to use Object Netscan
until now, enjoy. ;-)
