Using sp5i386.exe (33,744MB) from Microsoft FTP I fixed in few minutes my Windows NT with Service Pack 5. Many problems I detected here are now solved by this fix. Before this SP5 I've here instability in memory RAM usage and faillures in multithread. Excessive delay in response was another problem solved by this fix. HomeSite upgraded to 4.0.1 (update out this week by Allaire) have now decent performance on Windows NT, after this fix. Before the service pack HomeSite was running slow, with bad response time.
Currently I'm using Windows NT intensivelly here, working on the Net using Embellish for Windows (registered this month from Beyond.com), WebExpress 3.0 from Jim Mayall (ASP Member), Allaire HomeSite and Hot Dog 5.5 professional Webmaster Suite from Sausage. I'm generating code here with Boxer from David Hamel and TSE32 Pro from SemWare.
In my everyday HTM manipulation I need really improved performance from the Operating System because I work in dozens of pages at the same time. When my Hot Dog 5.5 starts it loads at the same time 30 big HTML pages. Before this fix the performance was good, but now, after SP5 appliation, the performance is simples very very good!
I detected that the performance of my Internet Explorer 5 was also enhanced by Service Pack 5.
