NeoPlanet 2.0 Users to Experience Faster and More Powerful Browsing

NeoPlanet Inc., announced today that its NeoPlanet Internet browser/portal software now supports Microsoft Internet Explorer 5. Using the Microsoft Internet Explorer 5 browser engine to render Web pages, NeoPlanet 2.0 provides users with a complete Internet environment, fusing the best of portal and browser functionality into a product that facilitates intuitive, personalized Web navigation.

Because NeoPlanet uses the browsing engine of Microsoft Internet Explorer, users will experience the benefits of Microsoft Internet Explorer 5 when they install the product, including compatibility with the latest Web standards such as DHTML, XML and faster browsing.

"We appreciate Microsoft's continued support of a componentized architecture and leadership in providing a development platform that allows us to innovate with NeoPlanet," said Drew Cohen, president and CEO of NeoPlanet Inc. "This strategic relationship ensures that

NeoPlanet users have access to the latest underlying browsing technology combined with the ease-of-use and personalization that NeoPlanet offers."

"We are excited to offer NeoPlanet users a faster, more dynamic Web experience with Internet Explorer 5," said Yusuf Mehdi, director of Windows marketing, Microsoft Corp. "We will continue to support development efforts like NeoPlanet, which take advantage of Internet Explorer technologies to offer users targeted solutions for their needs."

NeoPlanet puts the fun back into browsing and makes Net navigation faster and more intuitive. By allowing users to customize the look and feel of the interface and giving them content channels that they can customize and easily share with others, NeoPlanet places personalization front and center on the Internet. Its intuitive channel bar on the right-hand side links to mire than 800 of the top Web sites in just three clicks or less. Because it uses the Microsoft Internet Explorer back end to deliver Web pages, NeoPlanet supports all the latest technologies through its own next-generation interface.

Since its release in November 1998, NeoPlanet has acquired an installed base of over 600,000 Internet users and the company has signed distribution agreements with more than 50 regional and local Internet Service Providers (ISPs), and powers McAfee Web View distributed by

Network Associates, Inc. through their McAfee Online portal service. Users can download NeoPlanet at no charge from www.neoplanet.com. About NeoPlanet NeoPlanet (www.neoplanet.com) provides integrated client-side software services and content to enhance the ease-of-use of the Internet for consumers.
