Hi All.
We just tested on Warp 4 FP6 the new version of Maul Publisher and it runs really
fine! Well, is not a Page Maker but you can make newspapers, magazines and books
with this soft! The great advantage for Warp users is that Maul Publisher is
a native WPS application and in this condition don't consumes excessive CPU
as an Aldus Page Maker (thats runs on WinOS2, starting a VDM that forces the
CPU). Maul Publisher is a full powered desktop publishing application for OS/2
Warp. This is the first major update to Maul Publisher. New frame type introduces
spline curves. New frame manipulations are also included. Now includes semi-automated
text index creation utility, find and word count, improved text formatting.

Maul Publisher will automatically take care of page numbering in folding booklets,
reversal of margins for facing pages, page numbering offsets where you don't
want to start from page one, reversal of margins for top bound booklets and
top folding booklets, centering margins on printers with odd margins, and multiway
folding sheets and maps. In addition, you have full control of column, row,
gutter, and centre gutter guides, including the automatic adjustment of page
offsets when a number of sheets are bound into a folding booklet.
Maul Publisher allows the creation of polygons from two points (a line), right
through to 180 points. Having created the shape, you can scale it, rotate it,
and move it about at will. Each frame may have a foreground, a background, and
a border associated with it. Frames can be made transparent or be locked into
place once created.
Create any shape, scale it, rotate it, add borders, add backgrounds, add foregrounds.
You can have shapes with text on text, text on pictures, pictures on text...
borders, no borders, colours, two colours, no colour. All this manipulation
incorporates accurate snap and lock functions for total precision, i.e. to 0.01mm,
0.001", 0.1 points, or 1 printer pel, rotation and scaling included! Maul
Publisher
will fully justify text within any shaped polygon, flow around other polygons
of any shape, avoid running into borders within it's own shape and other overlapping
shapes.

You can manipulate text like you have never seen before. Rotate it, stretch
it, shear it, tilt it, kern it, colour it. You can alter paragraphs, use left
and right hand indenting rules, add custom tab tables, alter spacing on a line
by line basis. You can automatically add text dates and times in your own language,
extract a contents page automatically, and check your spelling.
Maul Publisher provides master pages, frame style sheets, text style sheets,
title extraction styles, full undo and redo. Maul Publisher is modular and can
be expanded with custom modules for a multitude of tasks such as importing or
exporting other data formats, colour management, or scanning for example.
