IBM to offer Netfinity Servers factory-installed with TurboLinux

TurboLinux, Inc., the high-performance Linux company, today announced a global agreement with IBM that allows IBM to factory-install or bundle the TurboLinux operating system on Netfinity servers.

Under the original equipment manufacturer (OEM) agreement with TurboLinux, IBM has been given tremendous flexibility in how it offers TurboLinux to its customers. With the widest range of hardware platforms in the world, IBM is helping customers manage Linux within heterogeneous environments.

"TurboLinux is pleased to work with IBM in offering Linux solutions to our customers around the world," said Cliff Miller, CEO of TurboLinux. "Pre-installation of Linux offers significant cost savings for corporate and government customers deploying TurboLinux solutions throughout an enterprise or in business work groups."

"Our partnership with TurboLinux will make it easier for IBM customers to take advantage of the affordable new opportunities Linux offers," said Sandy Carter, director, Netfinity Partnerworld for Developers, IBM. "Offering our systems factory-installed with TurboLinux reduces the time and expense for our customers to deploy their e-business solutions."
