WDDX SDK Updated
Allaire's friends at WDDX.org have just released Beta 2 of the WDDX SDK. WDDX provides an XML-based mechanism to easily transfer information between apps built with ColdFusion, Java, ASP, JavaScript, PHP, Python, ActiveX, COM, and (soon) Perl. This update to the SDK includes a few bug fixes, an updated DTD, expanded Java and JavaScript implementations, support for HTTP, special ADO extensions, and lots of new examples. If you've been wondering what CF 4.0's <CFWDDX> tag can actually do for you, get the SDK and take a look.

New Features Sites: EdwinWatts.com and HomeBid.com
If you're into e-commerce and bidding systems, then both of the features in the spotlight this month will be of interest to you. Using the open source code option of AbleCommerce, the developers at Fusion FX were able to deploy the Edwin Watts Golf Shop Web site in just five weeks. This story highlights some intelligent image caching and template use and has some great performance tips for you. The HomeBid.com Web site was developed by WebStream Internet Solutions and makes heavy use of almost all of the tags and functions in ColdFusion.
