CSD 1999014 01/14/99

GammaTech, Inc. just releases a CSD for GammaTech Utilities, important bundle of tools for OS/2 Warp. The file is gtu99014.zip (420Kb). You can get it at:

http://www.gt-online.com/files.html

The zipfile generates a diskette. This diskette contains corrective service for the GammaTech Utilities Version 4.0. To install the CSD I @Macarlo, registered user of 212 OS/2 programs, including GammaTech Utilities, simply unzipped the file onto a virtual diskette called "P:" , generaterd by Super Virtual Disk. Inside C:\GTU40 (the directory where my GammaTech 4.0 resides in the HDD <Alone> I use actually for work with Warp 4.0, I command:

GTINST P:\GTU99014.CSD

This corrective service has no prerequisite. It contains all fixes since the original base release. However, this csd will be a prerequisite for future corrective service releases.

To determine if you need to apply this CSD, execute the GtLevel command from an OS/2 command prompt. If the CSD level shown there is less than this CSD level there are fixes here you may wish to install. A list of fixes and their dates are shown below.

If while attempting to apply this CSD you encounter the error message pop-up with the title which reads "Base Level Invalid", it means that the version information stored in the INI files could not be found. This information was placed there during the installation of the base product, but is no longer there. You must reinstall the base product and then apply this CSD.

EDITOR'S NOTE:

GammaTech Utilities no more under SoftTouch Systems responsibility. Effective January 15, 1999, GammaTech will become the exclusive marketer of GammaTech Utilities and GammaTech IRC. These two products will be available for licensing only from GammaTech. All other products with GammaTech names will still be available from SofTouch Systems.

The relationship between GammaTech and SofTouch began several years ago with SofTouch assuming the sales and marketing role for GammaTech. It was a profitable and rewarding relationship. However, with the slump in the OS/2 market the two companies mutually determined that it would be best to consolidate the efforts back into GammaTech.

We at GammaTech would like to thank SofTouch for their efforts over the years and look forward to developing new relationships with them in the years to come. Visit the SofTouch Systems home page, at:
