About FreeDrive
FreeDrive, Inc., is a privately held Illinois corporation with its headquarters located at 901 West Jackson Boulevard, Chicago, Illinois 60607. The company was founded in 1993, under the name Nextec Corporate Communications (Nextec), on a simple mission: Make communications effective and efficient for the users of technology. Nextec offerings evolved over the years and the name of the company was officially changed to FreeDrive, Inc. in July of 1999.
With the advent of free services being offered over the Internet, similar to HotMail, Nextec decided to take its most popular component of the Nextranet, "Data Store," and offer it as a separate free service that would generate revenue from advertising. Building on the proven architecture, Nextec developed a new interface for the "Data Store" and rolled out FreeDrive in June of 1998.
FreeDrive's mission is to be the premier provider of web-based applications while offering our business partners a highly effective permission marketing solution.
FreeDrive allows Internet users to securely store, retrieve and share data on the Internet using only a Web browser. FreeDrive is the first service to offer what the New York Times called "The Next Big Thing".
FreeDrive enjoys partnerships with thousands of Web sites that offer co-branded FreeDrives to their visitors free of charge. The affiliate's co-branded FreeDrive boosts repeat traffic and adds valuable content to the participating site and offers revenue sharing opportunities.
FreeDrive can manage user registration, capture demographics, execute direct e-mail marketing campaigns, and channel promotions for corporate partners.
