It has many features, chief among which are:

- An attractive user interface, to handle bank, credit
card, cash, asset, and liability accounts, all grouped
within what are called portfolios.
- Multiple-user support to shield accounts from one
another -- ideal, also, for single users who manage
accounts for various indivisuals, and who require
that the accounts of one person never conflict with
those of another.
- Persistent transaction links between accounts in one
portfolio, or transfers from an account in one portfolio
to an account in a second portfolio.
- A calculator.
- Reminders -- be they fiscal or social -- that can be
created with limited or perpetual repetitions.
- A configurable cheque printer that will allow users to
create their own cheque designs (useful when printing
to standard, bank-issued cheques), with multiple
cheque-per-page support.
- A wide assortment of reports: budget, transaction
fee, unreconciled or regular transactions, and summary
reports, to name a few, with a variety of subtotalling
options.
- Budget tracking and graphs.
- Transaction fee (or service charge) tracking.
- Category tracking and graphs.
- Conversion to and from standard QIF-formatted files,
with optional, enhanced, Electronic Teller support to
ensure little or no loss of data during the conversion
process.
- Configurable comma-delimited (CSV) exports to facilitate
imports into databases that support CSV-formatted files.
- International currency support, at both the account and
transaction levels.
- Account password protection.
- International language support (currently supporting
French, German, Portuguese, Spanish, UK English, and
US English).

Fixed/Added/Adjusted in 3.11

Fixed a bug in the QIF importer -- linking to other accounts always failed.

- Uncategorized items containing a class are now assigned
a default (Uncategorized) category to prevent a
failed QIF import.
- Memorized transaction categories and classes were
being concatenated on import.
- Installation utility would fail in certain areas on
non-US codepage systems.
- Importing a memorized transaction would result in a
system violation in 00db.dll.
- Creating transactions with cheque numbers would result
in a complete system lockup under certain conditions.
- Cheque monitoring has been removed because it was
unusable under certain circumstances.
- Electronic Teller will continue to monitor the next
available cheque in a series, however, and display
it as a default for bank accounts.
- Links were ignored in category graphs. These are
now included, and are displayed according to their
type, e.g. a link to a credit card is considered
an expense, because the account itself is a liability.
- Amount formatting according to certain country code
settings would sometimes result in zero.
- Linking via drag & drop no longer links to an
existing transaction, to ensure complete integrity
of data for QIF exports / imports.
- If only one portfolio exists in the Service Desk,
it will be opened automatically on startup (but a
password will still be required if one requested
before access to the account(s) is permitted).
- Details view in Service Desk is preserved in between
sessions.
- Details view in Service Desk makes use of mini icons.
Icon view remains unchanged.
- Cheque printer asterisks (for numeric and string
amounts) are fixed from none to five and selectable.
- The selection (for both the numeric and string amounts)
is preserved between invocations. Of course, if
no selection is fitting, the asterisks/value can be
edited before sending the cheque to the printer.
- Accounts now support a second interest rate and a
minimum balance required value that can be used
in balance forecasts. If the minimum balance is met
or exceeded, the second interest rate will be
applied; otherwise, the first interest rate will be
used in the tabulation.
- Electronic Teller will display accounts in the
Service Desk, even though corresponding entries in
the main list no longer exist -- useful in gaining
access to otherwise valid accounts. The name, number,
type, etc. will have to be re-entered by the user,
however.
- Transaction archiver will now permit partial yearly
archives, for example from the beginning of the
year (not optional) to a specified month, if desired.
- The Search function in the Account Book will now
permit searches across all transaction fields.
- Class drop-down combination box is no longer disabled
if a category has not been previously selected
or entered in Transactions dialog.
- Multiplications and divisions in the popup calculator
did not function.
- A pie chart has been added to category graphs to get
overview of inflows versus outflows for either the
entire year that has been plotted or for individual
months (in category graphs).
- Sorting by amount has been added to Zoom dialog (in
the category graphs function).
- Balance forecast would report innacurate balances on
systems with a comma as the decimal separator.
- Balance forecast now uses a user-defined starting date
(useful for ignoring transactions that normally
would not be affected by an interest charge, such as
credit card accounts with transactions purchases
that have been paid).
- Debug parameter added to Service Desk to turn logging
errors to eterror.log file on. The Service Desk
alone controls whether debugging is turned on or off.
- Four additional parameters added to Service Desk
(besides the NBP -- No Backup Prompt -- parameter)
to invoke the Archives utility automatically when
the Service Desk is closed: one for backing up on a
weekday; another for backing up on a specific date
within a month, or the last day of every month; a
third for backing up every 1st to 9th invocation of
the Service Desk; and a last to back up when the
last successful back up is older than a 1 to 31 days
old. Full details are available in the Command Line
Parameters online help topic beneath the Service
Desk topic.
