DragText v3.1 is the latest release of a distinctly different Desktop
enhancement for OS/2 Warp. Present almost everywhere yet invisible
until needed, DragText lets you do what others can't: Handle Text as an Object
- Text in windows, files, and the clipboard becomes an object that can be copied,
moved, saved or deleted using drag & drop - and now, using pickup
& drop as well Access WPS Objects from Any Program - Treat a filename
or Oject ID like a shadow of the object it names; use a window's System
Menu button as your link to the object that opened it. Drag these objects
or use their menus - you can navigate the Desktop without opening a folder
or even leaving your app DragText offers still more and different - including
a "free gift" just for trying it: DTProgram, a comprehensive enhancement
for program objects. Set environment variables, customize its menus, and
now in v3.1, schedule objects to open on selected days or dates New
users can put DragText v3.1 to the test during their 6-week free trial.
Continued use of its Extended features (files, Urls, objects, etc.)
costs only $20(US). DragText's Basic features (d&d text and DTProgram)
are yours free for unlimited use. And as always, upgrades are free
for registered users, though reregistration is appreciated.
New in this Release
Here's a summary of DragText v3.1's new features and enhancements:
Pickup and Drop - Any window that lets you drag text now lets you pick it up
too. DragText makes a copy of the text, so you can edit or close the source
window without affecting your "lazy drag"
Text Handling - At last, there's an easy
way to copy the entire contents of a listbox (edit and command windows, too):
just Ctrl-drag, no highlighting needed. Use this with windows whose text
has always been hard to save, like the 'Status' window in slippm ("DOIP").
DTProgram's Scheduler - Execute your programs
automatically at real-world intervals: daily, weekly, or monthly. Schedule
objects to open, e.g.: "every weekday", "on the last Friday
f the month", "on the 15th", etc. Plus, the initial run
needn't be on schedule - it can be today or a year from now.
WPS Links - Accessing the object that opened
a window is simpler: just drag or click on its System Menu button without
pressing any keys. If the object is a file, pressing Ctrl will link to
the program being used to view it.
More
* DTProgram now lets you view and set a program object's Object ID. This is
handy if you use REXX.
* DTClip's viewer provides new text separator options, an auto-paste feature,
and a revised active statusbar.
* WPS Link Menus now display an object's path and their Locate feature is fully
implemented: the object will be selected and scrolled into view after
its folder opens.
* DT's WPS Text Links feature now searches more paths to locate objects named
in text. For dlls, DragText will use the LIBPATH from your config.sys.
* Bug fixes for problems with DTClip, DTProgram, VIO windows, intra-process
memory leakage, and UniMaint (now fully DT-enabled).
