Developer Chris
Graham, from Warp
Speed Computers (Australia, USA and Germany), famous
author of The Graham Utilities, creates now The Task
Manager for OS/2. This Task Manager, like the similar
from Windows NT, improves control of all processes. This feature is in the Eleventh CSD for The Graham
Utilities for OS/2.

What is
Task Manager for OS/2
by Chris Graham
Will do.
It is in CSD 11 (and above). TaskMgr.Exe and TaskMgr.Hlp is a version similar
in functionality to NT's TaskMgr. It does a few things differently, and it certainly
will have mode added to it. It is also SMP compliant. I'll attach screen shot
for you anyway! (of the Performance Page - the best one).
This is the General Help
for that application:
The OS/2 Task Manager is designed to display
to you
all running tasks and some graphs of CPU and
memory usage. The information is displayed to you
using a notebook pages. Currently there are three
pages (with more to follow), they are:
Applications
The applications page shows you the currently
running applications - the same as the Window List.
It also displays more details than the Window List
does.
Processes
The processes page shows all processes
currently
running in the system. Some detailed information on
these tasks is also shown.
Performance
The performance page displays the instantaneous
CPU and Memory usage, as well as their histories. If
you have more than one CPU and the OS/2 Warp
SMP kernel the CPU spin button will not be greyed
out and you will be able to select which CPU you
wish to look at.
Command Line Options
TaskMgr can also be called with some command
line
options.
TaskMgr -c
will compact memory when TaskMgr starts.
TaskMgr -c -e or TaskMgr -ce
will compact memory and then exit TaskMgr. The -e
switch is only valid when -c has also been specified.
This is useful for the situations when you just wish
to compact the memory and not leave TaskMgr
running.
