What is Bochs?

Bochs (pronounced "Box") The program bochs is a highly portable x86 PC emulator written in C++, and runs on most popular platforms. It includes emulation of the Intel x86 CPU, common IO devices, and a custom BIOS. Currently, Bochs can be compiled to emulate a 386, 486 or Pentium CPU.

What features are available in Bochs2?
- 80486 CPU instruction set and FPU instruction set
- VGA color graphics emulation, using PM, DIVE, and Fullscreen
- 1.44M 3&1/2" floppy disk
- AT/IDE hard drive via image file or direct access
- non-enhanced keyboard support
- CMOS functions
- PS/2 Mouse (emulation not complete)
- IDE CDROM (emulation not complete)
- Printer via image file or direct

Bochs is open-sourced, commercial software which runs on the following platforms:

• MacOS (PowerPC) 

What Bochs2 is NOT:
