 Hi  All.
Bob McLellan (read The Little Blue Kiwi), from New Zealand, has been announced the release of an INF file with information on OS/2 applications,  V1.2.: Descriptions and locations of OS/2 programs. Also includes dynamic links from the INF file to Netscape or the URL folder. I @Macarlo downloaded the file (bobsapps.Zip, 431.5K) from
Hobbes and examined it on my Warp 4 FP12. Here is a valious database for OS/2 users: if you are needing an application for a specific task, you symply click this INF file and search for it. Above 800 apps are listed and this INF lists also softs for Linux, Mac, DOS and Windows. If you need the web site address of an application, put its name in the query box as you can see in the photo below:

...and the result is displayed with complete information, as you can see in the next screenshot below:

Some important applications for OS/2 are not listed yet, but the author is working in continuous update for this INF database. If you know an app not listed yet, contact Bob and send the information.

Some important applications as Obackup are not listed as you can see in the photo above

These are a random  collection  of information gleaned from many different sources. Much of it was written or  discovered  by other people, only some of whom are acknowledged in the text. To all those who  have  created one of the items in here, thank you for your commitment to making the OS/2 world a better place.

This is not intended to replace the links and notices available at places  like Indelible Blue,  OS2 Super Site, BMT etc; and it it not necessarily up  to date. Infact, I often do not put  updates about a product into this file,  I just check that the Web site hasn't changed, it  saves me time to do that.  So always check the Web site of a product for current  information. However,  I do hope it will help you to get more value from using OS/2.

Just a word about the table of contents. I have structured it in something  of a hierarchy,  but there is a small usability thing. If I don't put any text after a heading,  then if you  click on the heading it will pick up the next lot of text. I really  should have text for that  specific heading and maybe a set of links to the subheadings below but it is  too time  consuming. Maybe I'll do it with REXX one day.

A friendly disclaimer

"In the interests of my time none of this information is edited, or even checked.  I included
it if I thought it looked interesting and if it would otherwise get lost. If  there is anything
that is not accurate, please let me know. " -said Bob.
