Araxis Merge 2000 have a complete Help and Tutorial online (see photo above)
Araxis Merge enables you to compare and work with different versions of the same text file. A colour-coded side-by-side comparison makes it easy to pinpoint similarities and differences between two or three files at a glance. Connecting lines are drawn between the documents showing clearly how they are related.
Point-and-click merging lets you choose the parts of each file that you would like to add to a final merged version by simply clicking buttons. The in-place editor with unlimited undo allows complete control over the merged file as you create it. The file comparison display dynamically updates as the merge progresses.
Araxis Merge supports the comparison and merging of entire folder hierarchies, making it quick and easy to detect and reconcile changes between entire sets of source code or Web pages.
Other features include the ability to print a hard copy of file and folder comparisons, and to customize the behaviour and appearance of the application, including colours, vertical or horizontal file-comparison windows and more.
A full Automation API is available, allowing you to tightly integrate Araxis Merge with other applications, or make it part of your workflow.
Full online help is supplied, and extensive tutorials are available from the Help menu within the application and may also be found on the Araxis Web site.

The evaluation version of Araxis Merge is an evaluation of the Professional Edition. Please be aware that the above features are only present in Araxis Merge Professional. They are not present in Araxis Merge Standard.

Compatibility and system requirements
The developers have tested Araxis Merge 99 v5.0 and Araxis Merge 2000 v5.5 on the following platforms:
In addition, Araxis Merge 2000 v5.5 has been tested on the following platforms:
We strongly recommend that you use Araxis Merge only on machines that have Internet Explorer 4.0 or later installed. Future releases of Araxis Merge may require the presence of Internet Explorer 4.0 or later.
Araxis Merge is not intended for Windows 3.x, Win32s or Windows NT 3.5x and will not work on those systems.
If you are using Windows 95 or Windows NT 4.0 and you don't have Internet Explorer 4.0 or later installed on your system, you will probably need to install the Microsoft Common Control Update before Araxis Merge will operate correctly.
Windows 95 users without Internet Explorer 4.0 or later installed will need to install the Microsoft DCOM update before installing Araxis Merge. If this update is not present, Automation will not work.
Although Araxis Merge will work on lesser systems, for best results we recommend at least 32 MB RAM, a 166 MHz Pentium or faster processor, and a high-colour (thousands or millions of colours) display mode of 800x600 pixels or greater.

Photo above shows Araxis Merge 2000 being installed on @Macarlo's NT4 SP6 Server
Important For Windows 2000 and Windows NT, this release of Araxis Merge will only work correctly if installed by a user with administrative or power user privileges.
If you have purchased an Araxis Merge licence pack, please note that Araxis Merge must be installed separately on each machine where it will be used. If you wish, you may store the setup files on a file server to make installation on multiple machines more convenient. Note that you must purchase a licence for each machine on which you wish to use Araxis Merge. Please see the licence agreement in the online help for more information.
Araxis Merge is distributed electronically as a single self-extracting file. Simply run this file and follow the on-screen instructions to install Araxis Merge on your computer. If you have an Araxis Merge Retail Pack, you may install the application by running the setup program on the CD.
If you acquired Araxis Merge electronically, but did not receive your copy of Araxis Merge as a single self-extracting file, please email support@araxis.com.
Should you wish to uninstall Araxis Merge, you may do so from the Add/Remove Programs item in the Windows Control Panel.
