AUSTIN, Texas - August 14, 1998 - A source tied
to IBM 's Direction revealed yesterday that the OS/2 Client, just as it is known
today, it will be discontinued in a medium period. IBM, said the source, it is more
concerned in promoting the integration of new Warp Server with the stations Windows
NT instead of taking care in preservation the interests of OS/2 SOHO users. IBM
is not been interested, and never paid attention to those users, has stated the
source. The only think that IBM intends is to win money at any cost, no matter
it costs its identity that's say to be IBM and to assume a Microsoft's personality.
Now IBM is sponsoring symposium on improvements in Windows NT, it is motivating
the use of Windows 95 and 98 in its own dependences and is installing those products
of Microsoft in its machines. IBM is literally associated to Microsoft and, nowadays,
Steve Ballmer, the President of Microsoft, is one of those that gives more orders
inside of IBM, guaranteed the source. IBM's project is to have a strong server
as Aurora, serving several workstations Windows NT 5.0.
By the explanation written above a conclusion may be stated: That domestic users
of OS/2 are damned, for IBM doesn't care.
